Parliament votes to hold evening sitting tomorrow |

The Ukrainian Parliament today voted to hold an evening sitting on Wednesday, July 7. A total of 247 MPS voted in favor. Deputy speaker Adam Martynyuk said that the proposal was tabled because this is most likely the last plenary week of the current session of Parliament and “there are a lot of draft bills”.

Parliament adopts law on guarantees for country's nuclear-free status |

The Ukrainian Parliament today adopted a law in its second and third readings (No 5296) on real guarantees for Ukraine's nuclear-free status. A total of 345 lawmakers out of the 429 registered in the session hall voted in favor of the document.

The Ukrainian Parliament today failed to dismiss five judges of the Constitutional Court for breach of oath. Voting to dismiss judges Mykhaylo Kolos, Anatoliy Holovin, Pavlo Tkachuk, Vyacheslav Ovcharenko and Mariya Markush failed to garner the necessary minimum of 226 votes.

The Ukrainian Parliament adopted the law on the principles of domestic and foreign policy at about midnight yesterday. A total of 259 MPs voted in favor of the document. It sets obtaining membership of the European Union and maintaining good-neighbourly relations with Russia as aims.

A member of the main ruling Party of Regions, MP Vadym Kolesnichenko, has said that his party voted today in favor of an opposition proposal to dismiss the deputy prime minister for humanitarian issues, Volodymyr Semynozhenko, because he failed to cope with his duties. The 5 Kanal TV channel showed Kolesnichenko commenting on Semynozhenko's dismissal in Parliament after the vote held today.
